Meet Our Team
Rickard Borg
Rickard Borg grew up in Southern California. Over his professional career, he has owned and operated several businesses while maintaining his legal practice. As Carlsbad, California, estate planning and family law attorney, Rick has represented businesses, physicians, hospitals, real estate developers, real estate brokers, manufacturers and other lawyers. In short, Rickard Borg is a lawyer's lawyer.
Rick is proud to have served in the United States Army, spending one year as a truck driver and machine gunner in the 359th Transportation Company in Vietnam. Rick passed up the opportunity to attend OCS and Pilot school to drive fuel trucks and returned to complete his college education. He is a disabled veteran who exercises daily. He has been married to his wife Alice for over 40 years. They have two daughters, Erika and Ashley. Rick is active in the community and is a member of the Carlsbad Library and Arts Foundation, and the Carlsbad Evening Rotary. He has served on a school board, as well as the boards of numerous corporations. He is the secretary of a foundation that serves veterans of the Iraq War. Rick is also a trustee of two charitable foundations.
David M. Brahms
Gen. Brahms is a retired brigadier general of the United States Marine Corps, where he served as the highest ranking lawyer in the Marines. David is an experienced advocate who is often interviewed by the media regarding military matters. He was in the Oval Office for the signing of the Guantanamo Bay treaty by President Obama. He is best known by the public for his work in the movie "A Few Good Men."
Marge Gillingham
Marge is the nerve center of everything that takes place in our office and worked in customer relations for years before joining our firm. She knows each one of our clients, controls the flow of documents, manages the files and keeps the calendar straight.
Vanessa
Vanessa organizes and works on our files in dispute. She also works on special projects that entail many documents. Prior to joining our office, she worked for 12 years as a paralegal in the office of Ernest Voigt. She is now a law school graduate preparing for the bar exam.
Fran Clepper
Fran is our probate paralegal. Fran watches our probate filings to make certain that we are in compliance with all probate rules.
